Translation

Treats sudden wind stroke with loss of consciousness, where there is no heat. Blast-fried arisaema and prepared pinellia, 1.5 don each; costus root, atractylodes, asarum, acorus and licorice, 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add seven slices of ginger and decoct in water. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Pung)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Paired with the next entry by a single clinical question: is there heat or not. Where there is none, this — arisaema and pinellia for the phlegm, acorus and asarum to open the orifices, costus and atractylodes to move, and nothing cold at all. Seven drugs, cheap, and nothing in it will kill a patient, which distinguishes it from the two elixirs above. For a collapse with noisy breathing and no fever it is the chapter's sensible choice. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
