Translation

Treats a nail screen in the eye with a very thick root that has long failed to heal. Abalone shell, pearl and amber 7 don 5 pun each; cuttlebone 5 don; borneol 1 don. Grind to a fine powder and with a copper rod take up about a soybean's worth and dot it on the eye, three times a day. — Uibang Yuchwi 類聚 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Shell, pearl, amber and cuttlebone, ground fine — four hard things and nothing soft, applied to a scar with a deep root. It is frank abrasion, and a soybean's worth three times a day on a cornea would have done more harm than the scar. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
