Clinical commentary 臨床

Five oily kernels with tangerine peel to move the qi, and nothing purgative anywhere in it. For the indication — a woman constipated after childbirth, or anyone whose fluids are spent — that is exactly right: a stimulant laxative in a depleted patient produces cramping and no stool, while five seed oils soften it. Grinding each kernel separately is a real precaution, since they press at different rates and a mixed grind yields an uneven powder. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
