治老人ㆍ虛人風秘. 杏仁ㆍ麻仁ㆍ枳殼ㆍ訶子肉 各等分. 右爲末, 蜜丸梧子大, 溫水下五十丸. 《得效》

Translation

Treats wind constipation in the old and the depleted. Apricot kernel, hemp seed, bitter orange and chebula flesh, equal parts. Powder, make honey pills the size of a paulownia seed, and take fifty in warm water. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two oils, a qi mover and chebula — the same unexpected astringent that appeared in the Seven Proclamations Pill, and for the same reason: in a depleted patient the risk is not that the stool will not move but that once moved it will not stop. Everything in the formula is mild enough to be taken indefinitely. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
