Translation
Treats cold dysentery red and white with the bowel slippery. Nutmeg roasted in dough, 1 nyang; amomum, 5 don; halloysite and roasted licorice, 2.5 don each. Powder, and take 2 don each time stirred into a decoction of foxtail millet. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)
Clinical commentary 臨床
Four drugs, warm and binding throughout, taken in millet water — the simplest formula in the dysentery sections and the one a household could keep. Nutmeg leads rather than the halloysite, which makes it gentler than the mineral pills earlier in the chapter and suitable for a case where the stool is loose but the patient is not collapsing. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
