Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治下痢膿血腹痛. 赤石脂ㆍ乾薑 各一兩, 黃連ㆍ當歸 各二兩. 右爲末, 蜜丸梧子大, 米飮下三五十丸, 空心. 《入門》
Translation
Treats a dysentery of pus and blood with abdominal pain. Halloysite and dried ginger, 1 nyang each; coptis and tangkuei, 2 nyang each. Powder, make honey pills the size of a paulownia seed, and take thirty to fifty in rice water on an empty stomach. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)
Clinical commentary 臨床
A mixed formula and deliberately so: halloysite and ginger to bind and warm, coptis and tangkuei in double the dose to clear and move.
