Cart and Dog Powder

The Bogam's small-character note identifies both insects and discusses the identity of the 虎目樹, favouring 樗木 (ailanthus) over 虎杖 (knotweed) — a rare instance of the compilers arbitrating a materia medica question in the text.

Translation
Treats both passages long unpassed with vexing fullness and the patient near death. Cart-pushers, seven; earth dogs, seven. For a man's illness use the head of the cart-pusher and the body of the earth dog; for a woman's, the head of the earth dog and the body of the cart-pusher. Dry both on a new tile, powder them, and take stirred into a thick decoction of the bark of the tiger-eye tree taken from its east or south side — it opens at once, as if by a spirit. The cart-pusher is the dung beetle and the earth dog the mole cricket. The tiger-eye tree is said by some to be the ailanthus and by others the knotweed; the ailanthus is probably right. — Bonsabang 本事 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)
