Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
一名二妙散. 治大小便不通. 六七月間, 尋牛馬糞中蜣蜋, 不以多少, 用線串起, 陰乾收貯. 用時取一箇, 要全者, 放淨塼上, 四面以灰火烘乾, 以刀從腰切斷. 如大便閉, 用上半截; 小便閉, 用下半截; 二便俱閉, 全用. 爲細末, 新汲水調服卽通. 《回春》
Translation
Also called Imyo-san. Treats both passages not passing. In the sixth or seventh month look for dung beetles in ox and horse dung, any number of them, string them on a thread, dry them in the shade and store them. When wanted, take one, a whole one, set it on a clean brick, roast it dry with ash embers on all four sides, and cut it across at the waist with a knife. If the stool is blocked use the upper half; if the urine is blocked, the lower half; if both are blocked, the whole. Powder it fine and take it stirred into newly drawn water — it passes at once. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)
