Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治結陰便血. 地楡四兩, 縮砂七枚硏, (生)甘草一錢半, (灸)甘草一錢. 右剉, 水煎服. 《入門》

Translation

Treats bound yin with bloody stool. Sanguisorba 4 nyang; amomum seven seeds, ground; raw licorice 1 don 5 pun and mix-fried licorice 1 don. Cut up, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Hyeol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Sanguisorba at four nyang and almost nothing else — the chapter's most concentrated stancher for the bowel. Licorice both raw and fried, on the reasoning of the Purging chapter's 半生半炒: the raw acts at once and the fried lasts. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
