Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治大便下血. 生地黃一錢, 當歸(酒洗)ㆍ地楡各八分, 黃芩ㆍ梔子(炒黑)ㆍ黃柏(炒) 各七分, 白芍藥ㆍ黃連ㆍ側柏葉ㆍ阿膠珠各六分, 川芎ㆍ槐角(炒) 各五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. 《回春》

Translation

Treats bleeding from the bowel. Fresh rehmannia 1 don; angelica (wine-washed) and sanguisorba 8 pun each; scutellaria, gardenia (stir-fried black) and phellodendron (stir-fried) 7 pun each; white peony, coptis, arborvitae leaf and ass-hide glue beads 6 pun each; chuanxiong and sophora fruit (stir-fried) 5 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Hyeol)

The hot counterpart to the three bound-yin formulas above — the three yellows, gardenia, and three stanchers with sanguisorba and sophora fruit leading them.
