Translation

Treats a child's mouth sores so that it cannot suck at the breast. One or two croton kernels, skinned and ground soft with the oil left in, with a little cinnabar and red lead added, spread on paper. Shave the hair over the child's fontanelle and stick it on; when millet-like blisters rise round the edges, wash the medicine off at once with warm water and wash again with acorus water, and it settles as if by a spirit.

Clinical commentary 臨床

**Contains croton, cinnabar and red lead, applied to an infant's scalp until it blisters. This must not be prepared.** It is translated as a record of what the text says. An infant who cannot feed needs a clinician, not a counter-irritant. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
