Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治諸努肉如菌突出. 藜蘆爲末, 猪脂調和塗之, 一日一易, 努肉自入. 《入門》

Translation

Treats proud flesh of every kind protruding like a mushroom. Powder veratrum, work it into an ointment with lard, and apply; change it once a day, and the proud flesh goes back in of itself. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two ingredients, one of them lard. Veratrum is a violent emetic taken internally and a caustic applied, and that is how it is used here — to eat back the protruding flesh rather than to reduce it.
