Translation

Treats eroding sores of the genitals in a woman. Tortoise shell 5 nyang; scutellaria, dried raw rehmannia, Korean angelica and peony 2 nyang each; dried lacquer and licorice 1 nyang each. Cut them up, boil in seven seung of water down to half, and strain; soak cotton cloth in the liquid and irrigate the sore with it twice a day. After irrigating, wipe it dry and dust Gamseup-san on the sore. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A wash made of what would otherwise be a blood-nourishing decoction — tortoise shell, rehmannia, angelica and peony — with scutellaria for the heat and dried lacquer to break what has congealed. It is given as the first of a pair: irrigate, dry, then dust with Gamseup-san, and the Deukhyobang names them together. **Contains dried lacquer, which is a contact allergen and toxic.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
