Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治男女陰濕瘡, 蟲蝕瘡. 五倍子五錢, 白礬一錢, 乳香ㆍ銅綠各五分, 輕粉二分半. 右爲末, 先以藥水洗後, 傅之. 《入門》

Translation

Treats damp sores and worm-eaten sores of the genitals in men and women. Gall-nut 5 don; alum 1 don; frankincense and verdigris 5 pun each; calomel 2 don 5 ri. Powder them; wash first with a medicinal decoction, then dust it on. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Gall-nut and alum to astringe, verdigris and calomel to kill — a copper salt and a mercury salt used on broken skin, in the smallest weights in the formula. One of the few entries written for both sexes, and the Bogam says so in the indication itself. **Contains verdigris and calomel. Copper and mercury salts are absorbed through broken skin and are cumulatively poisonous. This must not be prepared.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
