Translation

Treats an ice screen that has long failed to go. Antelope horn shavings, cimicifuga and asarum 2 nyang each; licorice 1 nyang. Powder them; make half into honey pills the size of parasol-tree seeds and leave half as a powder. Take 1 don of the powder decocted in rice-washing water, and swallow fifty of the pills down with it. — Bomyeongjip 保命 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The same powder made up two ways and taken together — half as pills to work slowly, half as a decoction to carry them. Four medicinals only, and the pairing of cimicifuga with asarum is what gives it reach: one lifts to the surface, the other penetrates. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
