Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治太陽寒水瞖膜遮睛不見物. 羌活一錢半, 防風一錢, 荊芥ㆍ薄荷ㆍ藁本各七分, 酒知母五分, 酒黃栢四分, 川芎ㆍ當歸身各三分, 麻黃酒ㆍ生地黃各二分, 川椒ㆍ細辛各一分. 右剉作一貼, 水煎服, 食後. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats a greater yang cold water screen and membrane veiling the pupil so that nothing can be seen. Notopterygium 1 don 5 pun; saposhnikovia 1 don; schizonepeta, mint and ligusticum 7 pun each; wine-processed anemarrhena 5 pun; wine-processed phellodendron 4 pun; chuanxiong and the body of Korean angelica 3 pun each; wine-processed ephedra and raw rehmannia 2 pun each; Sichuan pepper and asarum 1 pun each. Clinical commentary 臨床

Thirteen medicinals and ten of them warming or dispersing — a cold water screen is one the chapter attributes to cold rather than heat, which is unusual given its own rule that there is no cold in eye disease.
