Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治風眼ㆍ熱眼, 昏澁腫痛, 漸生瞖膜. 蟬殼ㆍ甘菊ㆍ川芎ㆍ防風ㆍ羌活ㆍ梔子ㆍ白蒺藜(炒)ㆍ草決明(炒)ㆍ荊芥穗ㆍ蔓荊子ㆍ糓精草ㆍ密蒙花ㆍ木賊去節, 童便浸晒ㆍ蒼朮ㆍ甘草(灸) 各等分. 右末, 每二錢, 茶淸調下. 《直指》

Translation

Treats wind eye and hot eye with dimness, roughness, swelling and pain and a screen and membrane gradually breeding. Cicada slough, chrysanthemum, chuanxiong, saposhnikovia, notopterygium, gardenia, tribulus (stir-fried), cassia seed (stir-fried), schizonepeta spikes, vitex, pipewort flower, buddleia flower, horsetail with the joints removed and steeped in a child's urine then sun-dried, atractylodes lancea and roasted licorice in equal parts. Powder them and take 2 don at a time stirred into clear tea. — Jikji 直指 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Fifteen medicinals in equal parts, and the one that distinguishes it from its namesake is pipewort flower — a drug used almost nowhere else in the Bogam and almost nowhere else but the eye.
