Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

下濕熱, 通利二便. 黑丑<span class='sochu'>頭末</span>ㆍ大黃ㆍ木通各等分. 右爲末, 水丸黍米大. 每服三五十丸. 《雲岐》

Translation

Brings down damp heat and frees and disinhibits both stool and urine. Black morning glory seed <span class='sochu'>first powder</span>, rhubarb and akebia in equal parts. Powder them and make water pills the size of a millet grain. Take thirty or fifty at a dose. — Ungi 雲岐 (Donguibogam · Ha)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three medicinals in equal parts, one for each route out: morning glory seed and rhubarb through the bowel, akebia through the urine. The simplest statement of the chapter's method. Pills the size of a millet grain rather than a firmiana seed, so the dose of thirty to fifty is small in absolute terms. **Contains two purgatives.
