Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治濕熱, 通利二便. 大黃三兩, 黑丑<span class='sochu'>頭末, 生一兩, 熟一兩</span>ㆍ靑皮ㆍ檳榔各一兩, 木香五錢. 右爲末, 每藥末四兩, 加神麴一兩三錢, 蜜丸梧子大. 溫水下四五十丸. 《拔粹》

Translation

Treats damp heat and frees and disinhibits both stool and urine. Rhubarb 3 nyang; black morning glory seed <span class='sochu'>first powder, 1 nyang raw and 1 nyang cooked</span>, green tangerine peel and areca 1 nyang each; costus 5 don. Powder them; to each 4 nyang of the powdered medicine add 1 nyang 3 don of medicated leaven, and make honey pills the size of a firmiana seed. Take forty or fifty down with warm water. — Balchwe 拔粹 (Donguibogam · Ha)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The one formula in the section where rhubarb leads rather than the morning glory seed, and the qi-movers are given more weight. Medicated leaven added at a fixed proportion to the finished powder is unusual and makes the pill gentler on the stomach. **Contains two purgatives.
