Translation

Treats qi counterflow. Bupleurum, tangerine peel and red poria 1 don each; pinellia (processed) and bitter orange 8 pun each; cyperus (child-urine processed) 7 pun; chuanxiong 5 pun; amomum seven seeds, ground; costus and licorice (mix-fried) 3 pun each. Cut up, add 3 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Gi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Bupleurum leading a formula for qi that has risen — the reasoning is that counterflow has heat in it, and bupleurum clears while it moves. Ijin-tang's pinellia and poria are inside, so the phlegm that counterflow carries is dealt with too. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
