Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

大辟瘟疫. 雄黃一兩半, 羚羊角一兩, 雌黃ㆍ礬石ㆍ鬼箭羽各七錢半. 右爲麄末, 三角絳囊盛一兩, 帶心前, 幷掛戶上. 又靑布裹少許, 中庭燒之. 《類聚》

Translation

Drives off pestilence on the large scale. Realgar 1 nyang 5 don; saiga antelope horn 1 nyang; orpiment, alum and winged euonymus twig 7 don 5 fun each. Make a coarse powder of the above, put a nyang of it in a three-cornered crimson bag and wear it at the chest, and hang another above the door. Wrap a little more in blue cloth and burn it in the middle of the courtyard. — Yuchwi 類聚 (Donguibogam · On)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The same three-cornered crimson bag as the Firefly Pill, with the mineral core of it and little else: realgar at a nyang and a half, antelope horn at a nyang, orpiment and alum at seven and a half don, and the winged twig of euonymus. Ground coarse, not fine, because it is going into cloth rather than into a person. All three uses in the leaf keep it outside the body. A nyang is worn over the heart, a second bag hangs above the door, and a pinch is wrapped in blue cloth and burnt in the middle of the courtyard, which treats the open ground of the house as something to be fumigated along with the rooms. Flowing gold in the name is the colour of the two arsenic sulfides, which is also what they were valued for. **Contains realgar and orpiment, both arsenic sulfides, and saiga antelope horn from a protected species.
