Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治傳尸勞瘵. 兎屎二兩, 天靈盖(酥灸)ㆍ鱉甲(酥灸) 各一兩, 雄黃ㆍ木香各五錢, 輕粉二錢半. 右爲末, 以好酒一升, 大黃末半兩, 熬膏和丸彈子大, 朱砂爲衣. 五更初, 童便和酒化一丸服, 勿令人知. 必吐蟲物, 未效次日再服. 《綱目》得效方名雄黃元.

Translation

Treats corpse-transmitted taxation consumption. Rabbit droppings 2 nyang; human skull-cap (mix-fried with butter) and turtle shell (mix-fried with butter) 1 nyang each; realgar and costus 5 don each; calomel 2 don 5 pun. Powder them; with a seung of good wine and half a nyang of powdered rhubarb boil to a paste and bind into pills the size of a bullet, coated with cinnabar. At the start of the fifth watch dissolve one pill in child's urine mixed with wine and take it, letting no one know. The worms will surely be vomited; if it has not worked, take it again the next day. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Chung) The Deukhyobang names it Realgar Pill.

Clinical commentary 臨床

勿令人知 — let no one know. The secrecy rule of 14.20.3: the consumption worm is held to be numinous and to know when it is being hunted. Human skull-cap in a prescription is the tradition at its furthest from anything usable now. **Contains human remains, realgar, calomel and cinnabar.
