Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治鬱積呑酸. 蒼朮ㆍ黃連ㆍ黃芩(三味幷土炒)ㆍ吳茱萸ㆍ陳皮ㆍ桔梗ㆍ茯苓ㆍ半夏各一兩. 右爲末, 神麴糊和丸菉豆大, 時時津嚥下二三十丸. 《入門》

Translation

Treats constrained accumulation with swallowing of sour. Atractylodes, coptis, and scutellaria — all three fried in wall earth — evodia, tangerine peel, platycodon, poria, and pinellia, 1 nyang each. Powder the above and bind with a medicated-leaven paste into pills the size of mung beans; from time to time swallow 20–30 pills on the saliva. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Eight herbs at flat equal weight, three of them fried in wall earth — a processing that aims a medicine at the center, and here applied to the two coldest members so they cool without chilling. The dosing instruction is the memorable part: 20–30 pills swallowed on one's own saliva, from time to time through the day, rather than at set hours.
