Translation

Treats stomach heat toothache. Coptis, hu-tong-lei, schizonepeta spike, mint, cimicifuga and sheep's shin-bone ash in equal parts, with a little musk; powder and rub on — divinely effective. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Ahchi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

胡桐淚 — the resinous exudate of the desert poplar, alkaline and the tradition's specific for a hot tooth. It appears in four of this chapter's powders and almost nowhere else in the book. **Musk is from a CITES-listed species.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
