Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治五痔. 黃牛角䚡 一枚(槌碎), 蛇脫皮 一條, 猪牙皂角 七箇, 穿山甲 七片, 蝟皮 一兩(剉). 右各細剉入缸內, 黃泥固濟, 火煆通紅, 候冷細硏爲末. 臨臥時細嚼胡桃仁 一箇如糊, 用好酒一盞送下便睡. 至五更時以溫酒調下藥末 三錢, 至辰時更進一服. 雖久病不過三服立效. 《綱目》
Translation
Treats the five piles. One ox horn core, broken up; one snake slough; seven cakes of gleditsia; seven pangolin scales; hedgehog skin 1 nyang, cut up. Cut them all fine, put them in a jar sealed with yellow clay, calcine in fire until red through and let cool, then grind to a fine powder. At bedtime chew one walnut kernel to a paste, wash it down with a jan of good wine and go to sleep; at the fifth watch take 3 don of the powder stirred into warm wine, and at the hour of the dragon take another dose.
