Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治中霧露, 山嵐瘴氣, 頭疼, 項强. 蒼朮三錢, 川芎ㆍ白芷ㆍ細辛ㆍ藁本ㆍ羌活ㆍ甘草各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑三片, 葱白二莖, 水煎服. 《入門》

Translation

Treats mist and dew struck in, mountain miasmic qi, with headache and stiffness of the nape. Atractylodes lancea 3 don; chuanxiong, angelica dahurica, asarum, ligusticum, notopterygium and licorice 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger and 2 stalks of scallion white, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Seup)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Atractylodes lancea at three don leading six acrid warm exterior-resolvers. Where the formula above treats miasma that has reached the stomach, this one treats it while it is still at the surface, and the sign that selects it is headache with a stiff nape.
