Translation

Treats sitting or lying on damp ground, or being struck by rain and dew, with the body heavy, the legs weak and the stool loose. White atractylodes 3 don; ginseng, dry ginger, white peony, aconite (blast-fried), cinnamon twig, white poria and licorice 7.5 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Jesaeng 濟生 (Donguibogam · Seup)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Ijung-tang with aconite, cinnamon twig, poria and peony added — a warming formula for damp contracted from below rather than a drying one. White atractylodes at three don against seven and a half pun of everything else is the proportion that defines it. The section at 3.8.1 distinguishes damp struck from outside, as here, from damp generated within by raw and cold food and by drink; the formulas differ accordingly. **Contains aconite, which is toxic even when blast-fried. Not suitable for self-administration.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
