Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治中濕, 口噤不省. 白朮 一兩, 剉作一貼, 以酒二盞煎至一盞, 頓服. 惡酒則水煎服. 《得效》
Translation
Treats damp struck in with the mouth clenched shut and no awareness. White atractylodes 1 nyang, cut up as one packet, decocted in 2 jan of wine down to 1, and taken at a draught. Where wine is not tolerated, decoct in water. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Seup)
Clinical commentary 臨床
One medicinal for an emergency. 口噤不省 — the mouth clenched and no awareness — is the severe end of damp struck in, which 3.8.1.2 describes as reached after a long course: oedema, panting and fullness, then clouding until the patient does not know people.
Wine is the vehicle because it carries quickly and opens; the provision for those who cannot take it is the kind of practical note the Deukhyo often adds.
