Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治月水愆期, 久無嗣息, 及血癖, 氣痛, 百般諸疾. 牡丹皮ㆍ藁本ㆍ人參ㆍ當歸ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ赤石脂ㆍ白芷ㆍ肉桂ㆍ白薇ㆍ川芎ㆍ玄胡索ㆍ白芍藥ㆍ白朮各一兩, 沈香ㆍ甘草各五錢. 右爲末, 蜜丸彈子大, 每一丸, 空心, 溫酒嚼下. 服二十丸, 當有孕. 《得效》

Translation

Treats menses that miss their term with long childlessness, and blood aggregation, qi pain and the hundred various ailments. Moutan bark, ligusticum, ginseng, angelica, white poria, halloysite, angelica dahurica, cinnamon bark, baiwei, chuanxiong, corydalis, white peony and white atractylodes 1 nyang each; aloeswood and licorice 5 don each. Powder them, make honey pills the size of a bullet, and chew one down with warm wine on an empty stomach. Take twenty pills and there will be conception. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Thirteen medicinals at equal weight with two envoys — the even proportions mark it as a general regulating formula rather than one aimed at a particular fault. What is unusual is the pill size and the dosing: a bullet-sized pill chewed rather than swallowed, and a course counted in twenty pills.
