蟬退散

Not the Cicada Slough Powder registered as seontoe-san, which is the Anterior Yin chapter's single-ingredient wash; the two share a name only. The Bogam cites the same formula in the Itching section as 蟬蛻散.

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治酒後身痒. 蟬殼ㆍ薄荷 各等分. 右爲末, 每二錢, 酒水調服. 一名蟬退散. 《得效》

Translation

Treats itching of the body after drinking wine. Cicada slough and mint in equal parts. Powder them and take 2 don at a time stirred into wine and water. It is also called Cicada Slough Powder. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Pi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two medicinals in wine and water for the itch that comes on after drinking — the chapter's neatest prescription, and the one most clearly aimed at a specific trigger. Cicada slough is the skin's own drug in this tradition, shed and therefore read as able to release what is held at the surface. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
