Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治風熱癮疹, 遍身瘙痒, 或成瘡疥, 及紫白癜風. 胡麻子二兩半, 苦參ㆍ荊芥穗ㆍ何首烏各一兩, 威靈仙(炒)ㆍ防風ㆍ石菖蒲ㆍ惡實(炒)ㆍ甘菊ㆍ蔓荊子ㆍ白蒺藜(炒)ㆍ甘草各七錢半. 右末, 每二錢, 薄荷湯下. 《得效》

Translation

Treats wind-heat hidden rash with itching all over the body, or going on to sores and scabies, and purple and white lichen wind. Black sesame 2 nyang 5 don; sophora root, schizonepeta spikes and fleeceflower root 1 nyang each; clematis (stir-fried), saposhnikovia, acorus, burdock seed (stir-fried), chrysanthemum, vitex, tribulus (stir-fried) and licorice 7 don 5 pun each. Powder them and take 2 don at a time down with mint decoction. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Pi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The chapter's most-used formula and the one it sends for twice — once for hidden rash and again for lichen wind, which is the Bogam saying it reads both as one wind in the skin. Black sesame heads it by weight and is the only moistening drug among wind medicinals; everything else disperses.
