Kidney-Stone Deodeok Decoction

한글 석자제니탕 · Pinyin Shi Zi Ji Ni Tang
Broth-anchored decoction: first simmer one pig's kidney (猪腰子) and 1 hop of black beans in 3 cups of water down to 1.5 cups and strain; then decoct the medicinals in this broth down to seven-tenths and strain again. Take after food, then follow with the pill below (Hwangryeonjeodu-hwan of the rigid-center section). The 'stone' of the name is the kidney (石子, testicle-kidney) in the broth, not a mineral.

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治强中證. 薺苨ㆍ石膏 各一錢半, 人參ㆍ茯神ㆍ瓜蔞根ㆍ磁石ㆍ知母ㆍ乾葛ㆍ黃芩ㆍ甘草 各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 先以水三盞, 猪腰子一箇, 黑豆一合, 煮至一盞半去滓, 入藥煎至七分去滓. 食後服, 次投下藥. 《得效》
Translation
Treats rigid center. Deodeok root and gypsum, 1.5 don each; ginseng, hostwood poria, gualou root, lodestone, anemarrhena, kudzu root, scutellaria, and licorice, 1 don each. Cut the above, make one packet. First boil one pig's kidney and 1 hop of black beans in 3 cups of water down to 1.5 cups and remove the dregs; put in the medicinals, decoct down to seven-tenths, and strain.
