Translation

Treats the six gatherings and concretions that move up and down with the qi, with stabbing pain in the heart and abdomen and stool and urine inhibited. Magnolia bark, evodia and bitter orange 1.5 don each; tangerine peel, apricot kernel, cinnamon heart and red poria 1 don each; chuanxiong, aconite (blast-fried) and licorice (mix-fried) 5 pun each; pinellia, areca and angelica 4 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Jeokchwi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The one formula in the section aimed at gatherings rather than accumulations, and the difference governs the design. The Nanjing definition at 1.2 is that accumulation is yin and does not move, gathering is yang and shifts with no fixed place — so this formula scatters and warms instead of grinding, and contains nothing that breaks a mass. Evodia and blast-fried aconite carry the warmth; areca and bitter orange free the two passages. **Contains aconite, which is toxic even when blast-fried, and is not suitable for self-administration.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
