Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治氣脹, 大小便不利. 白朮ㆍ陳皮ㆍ厚朴各一錢, 檳榔ㆍ紫蘇葉各七分半, 木通ㆍ大腹皮ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ枳殼ㆍ海金沙ㆍ甘草各五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 薑三, 水煎服. 《綱目》一名絜矩三和湯. 《正傳》

Translation

Treats qi distension with stool and urine both inhibited. White atractylodes, tangerine peel and magnolia bark 1 don each; areca and perilla leaf 7.5 pun each; akebia, areca husk, white poria, bitter orange, lygodium spores and licorice 5 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. Also called Gyeolgu Samhwa-tang. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Changman)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The three harmonies of the name are the three burners, and the composition is laid out to reach each — magnolia bark and tangerine peel in the middle, perilla leaf above, areca husk and akebia below. White atractylodes leads so that the moving does not empty the patient. This is the section's first-named formula for qi distension and the mildest of the three.
