Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治月候不調, 能調和經脉. 香附米 一斤, 分作四製. 一用鹽水加薑汁浸煮略炒, 主降痰. 一用米醋浸煮略炒, 主補血. 一用山梔仁四兩同炒去梔, 主散鬱. 一用童便洗過不炒, 主降火. 右爲末, 入川芎ㆍ當歸 各二兩, 同爲末, 酒麪糊和丸梧子大, 每五七十丸. 隨證作湯使呑下. 《種杏》 入門, 香附米 一斤, 分四包, 用酒ㆍ醋ㆍ童便ㆍ鹽水, 各浸七日, 焙乾擣末, 醋糊和丸, 鹽酒呑下.
Translation
Treats menses out of order; it can harmonize the channel vessels. Cyperus 1 geun divided into four processings. One portion steeped and boiled in salt water with ginger juice added and lightly fried, which governs downbearing phlegm. One steeped and boiled in rice vinegar and lightly fried, which governs supplementing blood. One fried together with 4 nyang of gardenia kernels, the gardenia then discarded, which governs scattering depression. One washed in child's urine and not fried, which governs downbearing fire. Powder them; add chuanxiong and angelica 2 nyang each, powder together, and make pills with wine-flour paste the size of a firmiana seed, fifty to seventy at a dose, sent down with whatever decoction the pattern calls for. The Immun gives: cyperus 1 geun in four packets, steeped seven days each in wine, vinegar, child's urine and salt water, dry-roasted, powdered, made into pills with vinegar paste, and taken down with salted wine. — Jonghaeng 種杏 (Donguibogam · Po)
