Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

一名瀉脾散. 治脾熱, 口瘡, 口臭. 梔子一錢半, 藿香ㆍ甘草各一錢, 石膏(末) 八分, 防風六分. 右剉, 作一貼, 蜜酒拌, 微炒, 水煎服. 《海藏》

Translation

Also called Drain the Spleen Powder. Treats spleen heat, with sores in the mouth and foul breath. Gardenia 1 don 5 pun; agastache and licorice 1 don each; gypsum (powdered) 8 pun; saposhnikovia 6 pun. Cut up, make one packet, moisten with honey and wine and fry lightly, then decoct in water and take. — Haejang 海藏 (Donguibogam · Bi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Qian Yi's again, and Ikhwang-san's opposite: gardenia and gypsum to cool the spleen that chebula and clove warmed. 口瘡, 口臭 — mouth sores and foul breath — are the spleen's heat at the orifice the Ojangyukbu chapter's 1.5 gave it, and the Mouth chapter uses this formula for them.
