Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治脾藏虛冷, 嘔吐泄瀉, 飮食不消. 麥芽(炒)ㆍ甘草(灸) 各一兩半, 人參ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ草果ㆍ乾薑(炮) 各一兩, 厚朴ㆍ陳皮ㆍ白朮各七錢半. 右剉, 五錢, 水煎服. 《三因方》

Translation

Treats the spleen vacuous and cold, with vomiting, diarrhoea and food not digesting. Barley sprout (stir-fried) and licorice (mix-fried) 1 nyang 5 don each; ginseng, white poria, tsaoko and dry ginger (blast-fried) 1 nyang each; magnolia bark, tangerine peel and white atractylodes 7 don 5 pun each. Cut up, 5 don, decoct in water and take. — Samin 三因 (Donguibogam · Bi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Ijung-tang and Pyeongwi-san together, with barley sprout at the head — the spleen warmed, dried and given something to digest with. The Samin's formula for the whole of 4.7's cold spleen: vomiting above, diarrhoea below, food passing through unchanged. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
