Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治牙疼. 取壁錢包胡椒末, 如左邊痛塞右耳, 右痛塞左耳, 手掩枕之側臥, 少頃額上微汗卽愈. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats toothache. Take a wall-spider's nest, wrap powdered pepper in it, and for pain on the left plug the right ear, for pain on the right the left; cover it with the hand, lie on that side with the head on a pillow, and in a little while a slight sweat comes on the forehead and it heals.

Clinical commentary 臨床

額上微汗卽愈 — a slight sweat on the forehead and it is done. Like the Breast chapter's instruction to lie on the affected side, the posture and the endpoint are part of the prescription. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
