Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治內障. 蟬退ㆍ蛇退ㆍ蚕退ㆍ烏雞卵殼ㆍ男子髮 各等分. 右燒存性爲末, 猪肝煎湯調下一錢. 《入門》

Translation

Treats internal obstruction. Cicada slough, snake slough, silkworm slough, black hen's eggshell and a man's hair in equal parts. Burn them with their nature retained, powder, and take 1 don stirred into a decoction of pig's liver. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Five things a creature has shed or left behind, all charred — slough, slough, slough, shell, hair. The reasoning is sympathetic and quite explicit: what was cast off will cast off the screen. A pig's liver decoction carries it, which is the same liver-for-the-liver idea as Yanggan-won. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
