Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治內障, 常服則終身眼不昏花. 黑脂麻 五兩, 密蒙花ㆍ木賊ㆍ白蒺藜ㆍ蟬退ㆍ靑鹽 各一兩, 薄荷ㆍ白芷ㆍ防風ㆍ川芎ㆍ知母ㆍ荊芥穗ㆍ枸杞子ㆍ白芍藥ㆍ生甘草 各五錢, 甘菊 六錢, 當歸(酒洗) 三錢. 右爲末, 蜜丸彈子大, 每細嚼一丸, 茶淸下, 食後. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats internal obstruction; taken constantly, the eyes never grow dim or flowering for the rest of life. Black sesame 5 nyang; buddleia flower, horsetail, tribulus, cicada slough and blue salt 1 nyang each; mint, angelica dahurica, saposhnikovia, chuanxiong, anemarrhena, schizonepeta spikes, lycium fruit, white peony and raw licorice 5 don each; chrysanthemum 6 don; Korean angelica wine-washed 3 don. Powder them, make honey pills the size of a bullet, and chew one finely at a time, taken down with clear tea after food. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Black sesame at five nyang — more than all the wind drugs together — in a formula whose name promises to part clouds.
