Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治厥疝上逆, 陰冷囊寒. 川烏ㆍ細辛各七分半, 吳茱萸五分, 良薑ㆍ當歸ㆍ乾薑ㆍ肉桂各二分半. 右剉作一貼, 水煎服. 《正傳》

Translation

Treats reverting mounting surging upward with the genitals cold and the scrotum chilled. Aconite main root and asarum 7 pun 5 ri each; evodia 5 pun; lesser galangal, Korean angelica, dried ginger and cinnamon 2 pun 5 ri each. Cut up as one packet and decoct in water. — Uihak Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The smallest decoction in the chapter — every medicinal in it is acrid and hot, and the whole packet weighs barely three don. Seven warming drugs and nothing to hold them, which is the point: reverting mounting is read as cold driving upward, and the formula is given to meet it rather than to balance anything. **Contains aconite main root, which is toxic.
