Translation

Treats blood stasis causing pain after birth. Myrrh 3 don; dry-fried gadfly 2 don; dry-fried leech 1 don; musk, one ja. Powder the above; take 2 don each time. — Bomyeong 保命 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Four ingredients and no supplements at all — this is the postpartum shelf at its most direct, for pain the chapter reads as blood simply lodged. The dose of musk is given as *one ja*, a quarter of a don: the traditional smallest measure, used where a substance is precious and a little carries far. Compare Gichim-san, which breaks within a Four Substances frame; this one does not bother. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
