Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治産後兒枕, 臍腹痛欲死, 百藥不效. 五靈脂ㆍ蒲黃(炒) 各等分. 右爲末, 每二錢, 和醋熬成膏, 入水一盞, 煎至七分, 熱服, 立效. 《局方》
Translation
Treats the child's pillow after birth — pain of the navel and abdomen severe enough that one wishes to die, and which a hundred medicines have not helped. Flying-squirrel droppings and dry-fried cattail pollen, in equal parts. Powder the pair; take 2 don, mixed with vinegar and simmered to a paste, then added to a cup of water and decocted down to seven tenths, taken hot — immediate effect. — Gukbang 局方 (Donguibogam · Buin). Note on modern practice: severe or worsening postpartum pain requires obstetric evaluation.
