Translation

Treats cold strangury, with dribbling rough urination and the body cold. Akebia, costus, angelica, white peony, green tangerine peel, fennel, areca, alisma, tangerine peel and licorice 7 pun each; cinnamon 3 pun. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take on an empty stomach. — Jikji 直指 (Donguibogam · Sobyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Fennel and cinnamon to warm the lower burner, four qi movers to open it, and only akebia and alisma to drain — a cold strangury treated almost entirely as stagnation. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
