Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治濕熱盛, 疏導二便. 黑丑<span class='sochu'>頭末</span> 四兩, 大黃二兩, 甘遂ㆍ大戟ㆍ芫花ㆍ靑皮ㆍ陳皮各一兩, 木香五錢. 右末, 水丸梧子大, 每五六十丸, 白湯下, 以快利爲度. 《綱目》

Translation

Treats damp heat exuberant; it frees and conducts both stool and urine. Black morning glory seed <span class='sochu'>first powder</span> 4 nyang; rhubarb 2 nyang; kansui, euphorbia root, genkwa flower, green tangerine peel and tangerine peel 1 nyang each; costus 5 don. Powder them and make water pills the size of a firmiana seed; take fifty or sixty at a dose down with plain hot water, taking a brisk purge as the measure. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Ha)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Sipjo-tang's three — kansui, euphorbia root and genkwa flower — carried inside a morning glory and rhubarb pill. That combination makes this the most forceful preparation in the chapter except for its own augmented version at 8.8.5. The name is the point: a boat and a cart, the two means of carrying a load away. **Contains kansui, euphorbia root and genkwa flower, all toxic, alongside two purgatives.
