Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治一切水濕. 又下諸積之聖藥. 黑丑頭末ㆍ大黃煨ㆍ郁李仁各一兩, 芒硝三錢半, 木香三錢, 甘遂半錢. 右末, 水丸梧子大. 每服十丸至十五丸. 《綱目》

Translation

Treats all water and damp; it is also the sagely medicine for bringing down accumulations of every kind. Black morning glory seed first powder, rhubarb roasted in ashes and bush cherry kernel 1 nyang each; mirabilite 3 don 5 pun; costus 3 don; kansui half a don. Powder them and make water pills the size of a firmiana seed. Take ten to fifteen at a dose. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Ha)

Clinical commentary 臨床

濬川, dredging a river, and the name states the method: the passage is cleared by force so that what has silted up moves again. Kansui at half a don is the smallest dose of it in the chapter, and it is the only toxic medicinal here. That makes this the most usable of the section's severe formulas — bush cherry kernel and mirabilite do most of the work, and both are ordinary purgatives. **Contains kansui, which is toxic, with two purgatives.
