Translation

Treats sudden cold of the genitals. Dried ginger and oyster shell 1 nyang each. Powder the pair, work it into a thick paste with distilled spirit, spread it on the hands, and rub the outer kidney with both hands; for a woman, rub the two breasts. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two medicinals and a spirit base, rubbed rather than taken — the friction and the alcohol do as much as the ginger. The alternative site for women is given without comment, and is one of the few places in the chapter where a treatment for the anterior yin is written for both. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
