Cut up, make one packet, add ten slices of ginger and decoct in water. — Injae Jijibang 直指 (Donguibogam · Pung)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Obi-tang with three drugs added, and the additions say what the Jijibang thought was missing: castor aralia bark to reach the joints, and tangkuei with peony to nourish the blood in a limb that is numb because it is underfed rather than merely waterlogged. Doubling the ginger is the other change and the counterweight to the two cooling drugs. It is the better of the two formulas for a chronic case. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
