Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治心虛夢泄. 蛤粉ㆍ黃柏(炒)ㆍ人參ㆍ白茯苓各三兩, 遠志ㆍ菖蒲ㆍ靑黛各二兩, 樗根白皮一兩. 右爲末, 麪糊和丸梧子大, 靑黛爲衣. 空心, 薑鹽湯下五十丸. 《正傳》

Translation

Treats heart vacuity with discharge in dreams. Clam shell powder, phellodendron (stir-fried), ginseng and white poria 3 nyang each; polygala, acorus and indigo 2 nyang each; tree-of-heaven root bark 1 nyang. Powder them, bind with flour paste into pills the size of a firmiana seed, and coat with indigo. Take fifty on an empty stomach with ginger-and-salt decoction. — Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Jeong)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Jinjubun-hwan's two with the spirit medicinals added — ginseng and poria to hold the heart, polygala and acorus to steady it — for the patient whose dreams come from a mind that will not settle. 定志, settling the will, is the difference from the plain pill, and the section's title says the dreams belong to the heart. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
