Translation

Treats an obstructing screen and blue blindness. Coptis 1 nyang; chrysanthemum, saposhnikovia, mint, schizonepeta, notopterygium, Korean angelica and chuanxiong 3 don each. Powder them; steam one whole white sheep's liver until done and pound it together with the powder into pills to take. — Uihak Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The Gukbang's two-ingredient Yanggan-won with seven wind drugs added — the Jeongjeon keeping what worked and giving it reach. Coptis still carries the weight, and the liver is still steamed rather than raw, which makes the pills hold. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
